Wayne Rooney is set to join the Eastern Conference MLS team, D.C. United when the summer transfer window opens up on July 10th. The 32-year-old striker who is the former captain of the England national team and Manchester United have agreed to a contract with D.C. United that will go through 2020 season. Rooney is currently playing for his boyhood club, Everton, where to this date he has scored 11 goals. Everton’s boss, Sam Allardyce has said that he cannot guarantee Rooney a starting role in the upcoming 2018/2019 season.
While playing at Manchester United, Rooney won five Premier League titles, the Champions League, FA Cup and was named Footballer of the Year in 2010.
